Who says movies can't teach you something?

Saturday March 20th

We finally went to see this movie today!
It was as good as everyone said it was!!
And I learned something about football that I didn't know. :)

We had a good time,
despite the crazy lady next to Jeremy
who kept shouting out during the movie
and the dysfunctional family in front of us!
Oh, AND the oriental guy who sat next to me
when the movie was literally 5 minutes from finishing...

Why We Love to Hate Houston

Wednesday March 17th

We've been running around Houston this week.
Today we decided to try the HOV lane.
For those of you not in a big city;
HOV stands for High Occupancy Vehicle.
2 or more people in a vehicle counts. :)
It was really weird driving between the traffic.

Friday March 12th

We decided to take a team photo since
today was picture day so we were all dressed up.
Unfortunately a student took the photo,
so it didn't turn out too well...

Field Trip

Thursday March 11th

Today the 5th grade went to the
Museum of Natural Science in Houston.
They have this really cool butterfly habitat.
This is me and my lovely partner, Brandy,
posing below the waterfall.

The day was fun, but exhausting!

Wednesday March 10th

Our head custodian found this little guy
wandering around the parking lot.
She couldn't stand to see it get hurt,
so she rescued it and offered it to the science lab teacher.
The lab already has fish, so he ended up with my partner teacher.
It took us awhile to gather all the needed items
to give him a proper habitat,
but he is adjusting quite well now.
And the kids love him!

PS The kids named him Question
because they don't know what gender he is. :)

Spring!

Tuesday March 9th

After a relatively long and cold winter,
Spring has sprung upon us quite suddenly.
This beautiful tree is in the parking lot at work.
I love how it looks, HATE how it smells!

Monday March 8th

I know I haven't talked about it in awhile
but I am still very much into Twilight.
I recently read the New Moon Movie Companion
from cover to cover.
Another friend of mine just loaned me this!
If only I could get a book that would take
me into the intricate workings of the mind of
Stephanie Myer!

I'm getting old...

Sunday March 7th

We used to just get the paper for
the coupons and comics.
Lately, we have actually started reading it!
Today we laid around and I read to Jeremy.
OMG we are getting old!!!!

and yes, I'm at work...

Sushi!

Friday March 5th

Tonight we went out with some new friends
and tried some new foods!
The night merited two pictures-

This is the platter of crazy sushi that Jeremy tried;
notice the quail egg on a bed of fish eggs.
Yuck!

This isn't as good of a picture, but shows the deliciousness that I enjoyed.

We both branched out and discovered that,
when done well,
even raw fish and other "sushi stuff"
can be good!

Thursday March 4th

I've had this for while and just got around to showing it off.
When I found this in the store, I just had to have it.
This is one of those phrases you find yourself repeating
over and over and over and over and...
Now, I just hold up the sign!
And no excuses because it is in both languages!
Ha ha! I love it!

I have been wanting to watch this movie for awhile

I was feeling reluctantly culinary today
as I tried out a new pork chop recipe.
As I was sauteing the garlic and other ingredients
I accidentally made this heart.
Well, it made my day!

and I have to spend time every weekend working on it
or it gets out of hand!
We ran out of check book register

I wanted to share two of our new favorite cook books.
Their magazines actually and we have been impressed
with the ease and deliciousness of the recipes.

Why is girl scout cookie time in the middle of
diet season and lent?!
Well, I'm not technically on a diet
and I didn't give up sweets for lent,
but I am trying to cut back,
I can proudly say I have only eaten one of these a day
since I bought them!

and it has been an interesting and easy read.

In honor of our new healthy lifestyle,
Jeremy bought us this cool scale.
It keeps track of weight and body fat percentage
and shows you how much you are loosing.

Huff and puffing, but it's worth it!

Monday February 22nd

One of the biggest new events in my life lately
is that I now work out on a regular basis!
Four days a week after work,
a group of us use the gym to do work out videos.
This is the first time I have ever stuck with it
and it is all because of the support of my girls!
