Take Your Wife to Work Day

Ok, it's not an official holiday, but

I did go to work with Jeremy today.

He was giving a presentation to local educators

about bully prevention.

I went to help and give moral support.

I am my campus' Multicultural Committee representative.

Which means, I am in charge of organizing our

Multicultural Festival.

Each grade level represented a culture.

Friday May 14th

I'm going to brag now.

Not that I did anything, but

my class won me some pride today.

1st place in the 5th grade tug-of-war competition!!

The other 1st and 2nd place ribbon

are from one of my students who won the sprint competitions.

I'm a proud teacher!

Wednesday May 5th

Today was the 5th grade Olympiad.

We spent the day in the district stadium

and our kids participated in events like

jump roping, running, tug-of-war.

It is one of my favorite days of the year.

Going Green

Thursday March 25th

I was raised to respect the environment
and to do my part to protect it.
We are trying to teach that to our kids at school as well.
Since everyone is all in to "Going Green"
I thought I would show off my recycle bin.
I know, you are probably thinking,
"That's a lot of wasted paper!"
We are also trying to cut back and reuse when possible,
but at least the extras will be recycled.

Wednesday March 24th

We recently received document cameras
and projectors at school.
Bye bye over heads!
Good riddance transparencies!
Now I can put whatever I want under the camera
and 'voila' it appears on the screen!
We also got mini laptops so we can show
educational videos etc.
I'm loving it!!

Biology Lesson

Tuesday March 23rd

At school we have been growing cabbage plants.
Mine looks the best out of all the classes!
Guess what guys, plants need water
and sunlight to survive! :)

Field Trip

Thursday March 11th

Today the 5th grade went to the
Museum of Natural Science in Houston.
They have this really cool butterfly habitat.
This is me and my lovely partner, Brandy,
posing below the waterfall.

The day was fun, but exhausting!

Wednesday March 10th

Our head custodian found this little guy
wandering around the parking lot.
She couldn't stand to see it get hurt,
so she rescued it and offered it to the science lab teacher.
The lab already has fish, so he ended up with my partner teacher.
It took us awhile to gather all the needed items
to give him a proper habitat,
but he is adjusting quite well now.
And the kids love him!

PS The kids named him Question
because they don't know what gender he is. :)

I've had this for while and just got around to showing it off.
When I found this in the store, I just had to have it.
This is one of those phrases you find yourself repeating
over and over and over and over and...
Now, I just hold up the sign!
And no excuses because it is in both languages!
Ha ha! I love it!

Huff and puffing, but it's worth it!

Monday February 22nd

One of the biggest new events in my life lately
is that I now work out on a regular basis!
Four days a week after work,
a group of us use the gym to do work out videos.
This is the first time I have ever stuck with it
and it is all because of the support of my girls!
