Today I attended a shower for our preacher's daughter.
We are really happy for them!!

It was POURING rain this morning.
I put on capris and flip flops and my rain poncho.
I carried my bags under the poncho,
and held an umbrella over my head.
By the time I got to the car,
my legs were soaked up to my knees
and water had run down my neck!

I was so glad to get to school and change into warm dry clothes!

Wednesday October 21st

On our commute this morning,
we saw one of the smoke stacks at the factory spewing fire.
It was lighting up the whole sky because of the low hanging clouds.
I tried to capture it on film,
but this is all I got.

Tuesday October 20th

I am really bad about not cleaning out my coffee tumbler.
Jeremy gets really tired of cleaning out soured milk,
and I can't do it because it makes me sick.
We recently bought some coffee cups at wally world.
I had to take them several times this week...

Today when I got home,
this cutie was peeking at me from the neighbors' balcony.

Today we had small group at Amie and Ramon's.
They have two doberman puppies.
Kendal brought over their chocolate lab, Roddy, to play.
This was the first time they had met
and it was hilarious to watch them interact!
I want a puppy!

This weekend Jeremy and I took advantage
of a free prayer retreat cabin.
Sponsored by the gospel radio station you see on the pen,
the cabin was a nice place
to get away from everything: phone, tv, internet -
and just focus on each other.

This morning there was this cool crescent moon peeking through the clouds.
The clouds were moving fast so I had to try to catch it in a hole. :)

This morning on the way to work there was heavy fog.
As Janet drove across the bridge,
we were literally in the clouds.
We could see anything!

Today we went to Killeen to have a party with Jeremy's family.
"Nipoti" is the plural Italian word for nieces and nephews.

We went out to celebrate Jeremy's birthday tonight.
He picked Genghis Grill,
a restaurant introduced to us by Brandie.

Since I had been sick and had not bought a present,
I decided to clean house for Jeremy Thursday night.
He didn't get home until late, but I knew it would be a nice surprise.

The Flu

October 5th - 7th

I spent Monday through Wednesday in bed,
very sick with the flu.

Italian weekend continues

Sunday October 4th

We decided to extend our Italian weekend
to include small group on Sunday.
Jeremy prepared a favorite Sicilian pasta sauce,
we pulled out our Italian flag and played Italian music.

Sicilian Dessert

Saturday October 3rd

This morning we had the blessing of talking with our Italian family.
Our discussion inspired us to try to recreate some of the Italian dishes we miss.
This is a classic Sicilian dessert called "cannoli."
If you come visit, maybe we'll make some for you!

Teaching is the best way to learn

Thursday October 1st

Last night at TeamKID
(Wednesday night bible study for 1st-5th graders)
we talked about how God has great plans to provide for all our needs.
We made these worry boxes and I brought mine to work.
I really need it there.
Although the lesson and the box were for the kids,
it really meant something to me as well.

Too organized for my own good...

Wednesday September 30th

At the end of last year I searched high and low in my room
for some important student folders.
I never found them.
Today, I found them...
in the middle of some other files.
Just 5 months too late.

Janet has a great collection of Byron's sermons on CD.
We really enjoy listening to them in the morning on the way to work.

On the way home today we saw a rainbow.
By the time I got my camera out we could barely see it.
